This Privacy Policy explains how Katsu Digital collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Katsu Digital platform and any of its tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

1. Who we are

Katsu Digital is the operator of this platform and all tools built under the Katsu Digital brand. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at ciaran.katsudigital@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

When you create a Katsu Digital account we collect your first name, last name, email address, and optionally your phone number. We also collect the date your account was created and your current subscription plan.

When you use our tools we collect anonymous usage statistics such as the number of uploads per month per tool. Each tool may also collect additional data specific to its function — please refer to the relevant tool's privacy policy for details.

3. Cookies and session data

We use two types of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies — A session cookie is used to keep you logged into your Katsu Digital account across all our tools. This cookie is essential for the service to function and is set regardless of your cookie preference. It contains an encrypted token and no personal information beyond your account identifier.

Preference cookies — If you choose "Accept all" on our cookie banner, we set an additional persistent cookie to remember your login for 30 days ("Remember me"). If you choose "Essential only", this cookie is not set and your session ends when you close your browser. You can change this preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.

4. How we use your data

Your account data is used to provide access to the Katsu Digital platform and its tools, manage your subscription, and send you account-related emails such as email verification and password reset links. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

5. Email communications

We send transactional emails including account verification, password reset, and billing notifications. These are sent regardless of your marketing preferences as they are necessary for the service.

During signup you may opt in to receive updates about new Katsu tools and features. This is entirely optional and unchecking the box means you will only receive transactional emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by contacting us at ciaran.katsudigital@gmail.com.

If you joined our Pro Access Waitlist, we will contact you when Pro subscriptions become available. You can request removal from this list at any time by contacting us.

6. Data storage and security

Your account data is stored securely in our database hosted in the EU. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except for the infrastructure providers required to operate our service. These currently include Cloudflare (file storage and tunnelling) and Resend (transactional email). These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data protection agreements.

8. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymous usage statistics may be retained for longer for service improvement purposes.

9. Your rights under GDPR

If you are based in the UK or EU, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion of your data, object to processing of your data, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. 10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by email where possible. Continued use of Katsu Digital after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
